According to Naperville dentists like Dr. Chiann Gibson, the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends an oral checkup once every six months. Regular checkups can help prevent complications from relatively minor issues such as plaque buildup or cavities. Naperville dentists say that children as young as age 2 should be evaluated and should begin regular dental offices visits by kindergarten.

Checkups are relatively quick but involve a thorough inspection of the soft tissue, tongue, and teeth.
